ASC in the snow is actually really annoying for getting started for any of those thinking about M3 snowing driving.

I find that you have two options. The 0 finesse option of getting started. Rev a little higher than normal, engage clutch quickly, let ASC sort it out. Or just start normally with a little more gas and let the tires spin a bit.

The latter seems a lot better because you don't hear these strange grinding and thumping noises that I assume are the brakes or something working to stop the spinning. Who knows, but I take it off for brief seconds if I'm trying to get rolling.

As a note about fishtailing. The ASC helps nicely if you are going straight on very slippery conditions and you give it too much gas. It notices the spinning tires way before you will and spot what could have turned into a whole bunch of slippage and going sideways.

Around a fast turn it won't do much good, but it is nice to have the engine cut if the reason you are going sideways is your own damn fault.

Due to the nature of a cap.. wouldn't it cause the thing to turn on/off over and over?

Or do I need to re-take my 4 years of electronics again, cause I am a bit rusty after 4 years.... :P

I believe the switch is some kind of powered switch, where it needs a contact to be made for about 1 second to toggle the switch. So the capacitor when placed across the switch acts as a short at first and then turns into an open circuit as it is charged. Perfect for a momentary press. Here is the procedure to do it yourself:

I live in So Cal where it hardly rains at all... I usually turn my ASC off right after I start the vehicle and am ready to go... I'd say its off 99% of the time...
