I am the 'all around dude' at the body shop, wash cars once they are done, detail them, paper work, phone stuff, computer stuff, deal with insurance companies, deal with customers, test drive cars... Do tires, minor work on the cars, diagnose the cars on the DIS machine and fix whatever needs to be done.
Bascialy, if they need something done, Ill do it. My range of duties is endless. I have a bunch of pictures from somel the wrecked cars I come across, I plan on posting them tot my site.
Ever have to push around an x5 without an engine in it?
Been working there for about three years now, I have prob driven over 3,500 BMWs by now. *grins*

That is awsome guys. I have been thinking about getting started at the local dealership. Any helpful insight? What sort of previous experience do they look for and if I have none what would be a good position to apply for. Who would I want to talk to, the manager of that department? Probably looking for something full time for this summer and part time when school starts back up.

for me...i got the job by knowing someone on the inside...good family friend worked there, and also...u gotta know when they are looking for someone too, cause...at my dealership we take SOOO many applications....it's nuts....just, my advice....is to talk to a manger of the service or parts dept and ask of ANY available positions and if they say they have none keep on them and get updates...the more eager you are to work, the more they are likely to hire you at a dealer....it took me 3 weeks of calling to get my job...
