I would also like to see both cars side by side. Perhaps a 1/4 front view with the front tires turned in.

They look like dealer pictures to me. ...in fact it appears to be LCZ 7835 - a 2002 up for £35,000 in Norwich.

I think I might have to do some research and see what it would cost to import an E34 M5 wagon into the States. A friend of mine successfully imported an E30 wagon not long ago.

I want an E34 wagon, when the M is paid for, as a daily driver / utility vehicle. It would be too sweet to have an E34 M5 wagon to fill that roll!!

PS - I heard from my friend that imported the E30 (he spends a lot of time in Germany) that you can get a currentl body style M5 wagon...but it will cost you dearly because it is a very custom order.

                E39 M5 -

                293.8 kw / 394.0 bhp @ 6600 rpm

                weight - 1795 kg / 3957 lbs

                Power/weight ratio - 394/3957 = .099

                E36 M3 (euro sedan)-

                236kW @ 7400 (316.5hp)

                weight - 1535kg (3384 lbs)

                Power/weight ratio - .093

Yes, technically. But not by as much as you would think.

The only thing that would make it better was if it was an M5 wagon !! Gotta love a 400 hp, 5-6 second grocery getter!

I think an M5 wagon would satify my desires of a car I could track one weekend and then the next weekend fill with 4 adults and their gear (comfortably) and head to the "cottage in the country", as our fair friends across The Pond would say.

I hate to turn you over to Audi, but try the RS6!! That's some kick@$$ power right there...
