    e36 m3 vs. m-coupe

hey guys, i was jsut wondering if anyone has driven a m-coupe and how they sstack up to the m3, i hear there are two versions of m-coupe. anyone know the differences between them..power styling stuff like that..any info about the m coupe and the m coupe v.s e36 m3 will be of help..thanks very much

The m-coupe comes in two variations: Hatch-back or convert.

The 01 m-coupe has the 315hp engine, but the older ones have the s52 engine.

Honestly, I think the M3 feels tigher than the m-coupe, and I have driven plenty of both.

m-coupe is nice, but kinda small for my likes. Besides, the m3 looks meaner.

so in 01 it got the 315 horsepower engine in the states? what did it have before 01? and whenever both the m-coupe and the e36 m3 were produced which car was more expensive?....which ones better..what reasons?

The rest of them had the same 240hp engine as the 96> m3. I guess, powerwise the 01 is better because it has the newer engine. But thats a matter of opinion in my book.

m3 is more luxo minded. The M coupe is truly a drivers car, I do not think it even came with ASC. die hard drivers only need apply. IMO it looks way meaner than any m3. Look at those flairs, the car was designed by the guys in the M division aftr hours on their own time. I saw some footage of an interview with a rookie F1 driver that took place in an M coupe, they were flying around a skid pad doing wicked drifts and donuts. As soon as i graduate from grad school it will be my first purchase! The car is just plain bad ass

I love the M Coupes and would like to pick one up with the larger engine. That car is very light and is very very quick. However, practicality sets in and having the rear seats in the M3 is very nice, especially with a kid on the way.

Then again, why can't the Kid be strapped into the hatch?

Heheheheh. You could always strap the kid to a parachute and tug him behind you... :P

Personally, I've always thought the coupe was butt ugly. The convertible is hot.

Have a coupe on my block, think my car is so much better looking. Don't know his year, maybe he has some horses on me, but wouldn't ever swap.

M-coupe uses a dated suspention setup.. As for being a drivers car? with its blistering fast steering that is way over boosted... Its far from a drivers car... However its pretty well balanced and has alot of power but at around 31000lbs its not actually all that light.

UGGGGGLY, wouldnt be caught dead driving one of those. Way too feminine for my taste.

The E36 M3 is a badass yet refined piece of machinery, now THAT is a drivers car.

No. The lexus SC 430 is a feminine car. The m-roadster/coupe is far from feminine. :chair:

Feminine cars don't have 300+ HP. Or at least they shouldn't.

haha, my dad might give his sc430 to my mom, because he hates seeing all women driving it... and he might be getting a 6 series :rockband:

Too feminine because it's shaped like a penis?

I love the car, drove the 315hp one and it's great. Top 10 most exotic cars, somewhere I read that in a car mag.....haha, I can see it in one of those women magz...."Top 10 most erotic cars" :spam:

*EDIT* damn I sounded gay, nonetheless I drove one! And the M-coupe is actually the coupe version, the M-roadster is the convertible.
