See the odd thing is that Mine DON'T do it despite the fact I have projectors. I have Bosch, but then again I've never driven in front of my car. All the other HID's I saw do it right on the road though. Like my parents car, when you hit a bump, you see the outline of purple on the road.

I have a tinge of yellow maybe...that's it. I'm going to have someone drive my car and I'll get in front of them.

What Kelvin rating do you have for your HIDs? It may be that they have 6000K ones. not sure.

Anyway, I get flashed every now and then as well. I even double-checked, triple-checked and quadruple-checked my lights to see if they're aimed right. I just wish I had 6000K high beams as well (I'll then have Dual AND Bi-xenons). It'll be interesting. THEN it'll be bright when I flash. My stock high beams look like crap compared to my HIDs. It's bright but not as "bright" as my HIDs.

I have 4100k (I think) bulbs. They are really really white with no hint of blue. Stock BMW's and Mercedes do the flash thing and they are running something in the 4xxx range.

how do you make sure your headlights are properly aligned? I mean.. whether or not they are pointing up too high.....

Umm. Its something similar to this: Put the nose of you car as close to a wall as possible, then draw a line on it thats same height as the roundel, then backup 25 feet, and your beam patterns should be right at that line. Most inspection stations have a headlight aiming tools also.

But personally, I take it to a parking lot, and adjust them so I can see how the pattern is laying out on a road surface. Then drive around for awhile and see what kind of reactions I get from other drivers. (You know they are too high when people surve out of your way). :eek2:

i get flashed all the time. i just flash back and think "look bitch, they get BRIGHTER!"

I got flashed so many times when i went back to my country and had a rental over there. The lights seem to be a lil brighter than everybody is used to over there. I was getting flashed all night long. And I would simply flash them back.

As for the flash in the newer model cars, some of the color change or flash could be due to the fact that the HID systems in these late models have self adjustiong capabilities. If you ever drive one, and the first time you turn on the lights the beam goes straight and then adjusts downward to the ground. Maybe when people hit bumps, the fact that these can move on there own may allow them to move when hitting a bump, not sure though.

Some people have that non-stop "id 10 t" error going on with them. And they are lucky I don't carry my million candle power spot light with me....
