Help me Decide!!

No one has really stated too much about the mods on the 97. They were done when the car had 37k miles. Are the mods on this car not that big of a deal?



1)The rough interior is definately a big alert. I don;t know if you people are aware that rolling back the miles on new cars (ones with digital odometers) is super super easy.



2) Doesn;t an engine with a super charger put more stress on an engine? I've also read in this forum that a lowered car wears out other suspension components faster.



I would go with the one with lower miles if they were actual miles. Look for all possible records.

I called the company that did the mods and asked them about the extra stress. They told me that a M3 engine is good for 300k miles. With the supercharger you are knocking 50k-100k off of that. Either way, I probably won't still have the car for 200k or 300k miles.



The less miles is attractive, but that is the only advantage over the 97. Is the 30k miles really a lot more on these cars?



If the low miles car would have been clean, it would have been a no brainer. But the interior condition just turned me off. All I kept thinking about is fixing the glove compartment, cleaning the seats, hoping they would come clean. Has anyone tried to clean the silver interior?



The 97 is in the condition a 68k mile car should be in. The 36k mileage car is not in the same condition.

Real tough decision. 30k is not much at all. As a matter of fact, my M3 has 107k and it still feels identical to 90k ago. These cars are super solid. Even after I destroyed my front rim by hitting a curb(as you can see on my sig, I have a spare ltw wheel), the car still feels rock solid.

Again, if you're going to mod it anyway, get the done one. And the 99 has side airbags-a + at my age but less of a concern to the younger...



Seems like there are lots of decent coupes for under 20k. An auto 4dr CAN'T be 3-% lower...I'd never buy a stick since I'm in NY, BTW.

The 97 is at the dealer today being checked out. I should of added that the mods were done to the car at 37k miles.
