Oh the rear seats... I thought you mean the front seat backrest! Lol.

The bottom cousion unhooks from the front, and you pull it up, then out towards you.

    Backrest:

    Remove the center armrest first.

Grab the backrest from the top, and pull foward, it should unclip and then come out.

    So says BMWs directions.

Perfect. That is the trick I was looking for. I will pull it this weekend and let you know. Thanks for all your help.

Hey, let me know if it works. I am trying to finally mount my CD changer. I want to mount it in the back passenger side foot well right up against the seat(90* angle). That way I can change my magazine from inside the car. I really want to run the wire underneath the seat so you don't see a big RCA cable.

Many of todays changers will fit in the Glovebox quite easily

Don't think it will fit and don't want it there. I like it where it is now, I just need to drill it in and hide the wires.

I had a heck of a time getting the headrests off the first time. Just be careful, you can do damage to them if you don't pull by the frame..

but once off, the back seat section comes right off...then just wd40 the posts and you won't have that problem again...

possibly...none that I know of though. I just kind of rocked them back and forth by their frames, came out just a little at a time. Now that I've taken them out once and gave them a spray of lube, they work fine....

                  so just be careful

That did the trick!. Rocked them out then the seat pulled out easy. My front speakers arrived (dynaudio 240MKII) , so the install will happen this weekend.
