    x brace???

I am trying to stiffen up my 98. It has allready been lowered 2 inches with springs and bilstiens and has strut bars front and rear (but I have traction control so Im sure the front does little good) Anyway I have heard alot about this X brace and was wondering if I should give it a shot. any help???

X-brace helps alot from what I hear as well, It also seems to be of great value. The design is topnotch and unlike a strut-tower brace.. The X-brace weight is down low.

And with a lowered car, it gives a little protection while scraping from bottoming out ha ha ha

is it a BMW factory part?? I have heard it causes understeer... My car with t'[s current setup oversteers..perhaps I should look into it..

Yeah, its a BMW factory part for the converts, so its a direct bolt up peice.

Actually, the ltw brace and the one on converts are different.

What's the reason for having different cross braces and how do they differ? The convertible comes with it standard, correct?

I doubt they function differently, but they look differently. My guess would be the convertable one is easier/cheaper to make than the ltw one.

That's sort of true, some early verts came with a "plate" instead of the skeletonized brace used on the M3 LTW and later verts.
