Can anyone tell me where to find new front speakers for my '98 M3?

My front left just started rattleing and I can't stand it any more.

Call an audio store, or find one on the net. UPgrade from stock. The HK's are paper insted of the better material now.. uhh... that plastic stuff...

I use crutchfield as a guide, and buy elsewhere... used them to find my new HU, and then got it from ebay for about 120 less..

Boston Pros 5.2, which has been replaced by the Boston Pro 5.5 should fit your front end. Get the component system, Boston Pro 5.5 with the 1 inch tweeter. The tweeter will slide into the exsisting tweeter port in the door pannel..... I really like the sound

If you're trying keep the HK system, call Pacific BMW. I've heard they're pretty cheap.

You would have to pull the door covers off, in order to replace them with the Boston Pro's Tell you what, if I can remember, I will check my stock of stereo equip. and see if I still have the original floor panel speakers, if that is what u need. If u need them, all I ask u to do is pay for shipping....

As far as a direct connect for the boston Pro's it aint that simple, it does take a lot of effort to get them in. I replaced the entire system

Would you by any chance have any mids. The ones that are on the door panel below the tweeters. The ones in both of my doors are blown. I really don;t want to replace them with anything aftermarket quite yet. Specially if I have to get another amp, crossover, or HU. I like the sound of the HK ones. They're good enough for me.

there's no aftermarket replacement for them, too small for mids, to large for tweeters. you'll need a 5.25 inch 2 way system to replace the stock junk.

As for the mids in the doors, I think it would be VERY useful to have if you could find a replacement for it, but like people have said...it's hard to find. I've noticed there are many 3-way component systems....but I'll look into that for you though, maybe experiment a little with my car to see what I can do. :violin:



I work at my dad's audio shop so I don't have to deal audio stuff and discount it behind my manager's back....I will either beat or match online prices even ebay, except for private/personal ebay auctions by owner. Shipping will be payed by you for the exact amount, not like ebay amount. :thumbsup:

Romh, you ask if I had spare Mids in the doors, yes and know. they are still in my doors but not hooked up. Finding a 3 way system that is a direct fit, aint all that easy. I have heard that quart makes a complete 3 way system spicifically for the E36 BMW.... But I hear it is over 1K for the sytem....



I put the Boston pros in the car, and component 6x4's in the rear side pannels, along with JL stealth boxes.... To me, it sounds awesome.... You really will not miss the mid speakers if you go with the Bosti Pro's and the sound, I promise u is so much better than what the HK sytsem offers u
