    Group Buy????

I don’t know if you guys have ever done this before and/or if it is not permitted on the forum, but how do you guys feel about group buys?

The first that I would like to suggest is a bulk order for the OEM M illuminated shift knob. I’ve worn mine pretty well, and I would like a new one if we could get them at a discounted rate.

I would like to order an all black one, but I am open to see if anyone has other thoughts or wants.

There are group buys on here from time to time. Definitely allowed.

That shift knob sounds like a good idea, mine is pretty well worn also and i like the lighted one. Count me in if the savings are justified.

I will watch the thread and see how many people express an want for a new one. I will then act accordingly. Thank you for your interest.

I just decided to replace my sliding worn illuminated shift knob with a new one. Dealer wanted $140, but I found one on ebay for $69. Check out this link:

I'm interested even though my M is a 1997. I have heard the install is very simple, drawing power to the shift knob from the hot lead to the ashtray. Is this correct? If this is the case, mark me down for the "wood grain" version.

Count me in for the shift knob as well. Im a newbie at stick and love to drive at night. Also a UCC SSK group buy would be great for those of us who just got stock M's..

I don't understand why you all wan't to do a group buy on little dinky things like this. You're really not going to save anything.

                    I wouldn't mind a new one. Seeing how I got a 6-speed E46 knob right now... :P

I'd be down if they're cheap enough - I just pulled my other one in some "spirited" driving.

Lets be perfectly clear here, exactly what did you pull during some spirited driving ?

I guess I should have specified which knob, huh. I pulled the illuminated OEM shiftknob, smartass.

Off topic but m3fuz, whats the weather like in Florida, Tampa, Miami, Keys area around late October / early November time ? It’s just that I am looking at going over for a fly drive and still want to come back to sunny England with a tan for Christmas.

                            Thanks for any advise.

You guys should look into a shift knob w/ a set screw - UUC, etc... That way no more pulling off during a spirited drive. The RK3 illuminated knob is quite a deal at 125 - 135 compared to the dealers 160, and the weight of the stainless steel (22oz.)takes a lot of the effort out of shifting.

Just my .02 - good luck.
