A compression test should cost 1 hour's labor at the most. A leakdown test will cost more.

Wait..going back...did you mean that you can't get to 20 in first or 40 in Second?

There is something bizarre going on. Like...what happens when you floor it in first...Normally, our cars pull harder and harder to redline and then you hit it if you're not careful. The shift comes around 30ish.

Sorry for late reply. Yes, I am sure my car not reaching 30 mph first gear. May be 22 when I hit the rev limit.

Is it sound like slipping clutch or previous owner changed the gear ratio.

            Thanks for all inputs.

Well, get under the car and see if you have an OEM diff....

                Hmmmm...that's interesting.

You SURE it isn't the clutch? Did you stick it in 5th at a low speed and just FLOOR it. if the RPM's rise at any decent speed, you have a problem. so go like 25 and do that.

Honestly, if there is a different diff. in the car and you redline at 22 or so, your car should be BALLS fast. It should feel ridiculous in almost any gear.

Guys with upgraded diffs like that can start in second no problem.

I know this is going to sound stupid but are you sure it is an M3? And also, after the tune up were the spark plugs inspected. They should show how the car's timing with air/fuel.

lol , it 's a M3 ,atleast the title said so , except the prev. owner change the engine.

Yes the spark plug have some carbon deposit and also look kind of burning grey, not perfect for the color, (should be lite brown) .

I don't know what can help it for air/fuel ratio, since the O2 sensor ok.

If you are burning a qt. of oil every 1,000 miles and the car is not responding quickly. Any chance your thermostat is broken and the car is running rich to cause the excessive oil consumption and flood the cylinder walls with oil the car would probably not responsd as quickly if bad enough. Make sure your temperature gauge is right in the middle after ten minutes of driving not at a third or twnety five percent, anything less than half probably means a broken thermostat. My first m3 had a broken thermostat at 50,000 mile, it's common around your mileage.

The temperature needle is rite in the middle after 5 minute drinving so I think the thermostat fine.

                              Thnx for the response.

The previous owner CHANGED THE ENGINE?? Please can you take a picture and show us the engine. This could explain why you don't go to redline and you car doesn't feel fast.

If you can do that that would be great.

                                Cheers,
