      sirius.

dammit! you've just taken every excuse I had for not looking into them more. I really want to keep the car stock for resale value, but they're something I could get some money back later.

      appreciate the info.

and if/when I do it, I'll make sure and take pictures to share :-)

speaking of which, I'm getting set to swap tie rods and fuel filter....should I post pics?

talk to me if you want more info, i can answer all your questions

The white, like on my car, are more of a light blue/white shade, I really like them. They actually provide good light in front of the car w/o the fogs on. :haha:

I realize I may become an outcast because of this thread. Am I the only one that finds angel eyes on an e36 ugly? I think it looks ricy It belongs on the 5-series IMO.

I agree. But ricy? Nah. I don't like it either and I agree with you 100% that they do belong to the 5-series and such. Ask Ty Vil why they aren't cool, he can answer all your questions...something like that.

LOL No doubt he'd love IM's asking why they aren't cool.

I just think that they are a waste of money...I know that I have euro clears, but still. Maybe it just isn't my style. To each his own.

I definitely have to agree and say buy the important stuff like Euro projectors and then HID's before you go out buying AE's which add nothing functionally.

Honestly, you can put your AE money to something like a Short Shift Kit which will affect you throughout your driving experience.

Yes, but what if you already have the preformance mods you want on your car, and you're looking for astecits now.

True true...once your car is functionally awesome and you have the money to drop, go for it.

With our cars though, there are so many more "critcal mods" like headlights, Tranny mounts, radar detector (for non VA residents) that I wouldn't waste my time with AE.

Thinking back though, one of my friend's asked me if my car had "those ring things around your lights", so non car people like them too.

eh, I don't find them ugly...but I don't think they look right. what I think is funny is the people who bag on someone for getting different tail lights or whatever, saying stock looking is best, then suggest angel eyes. I would certainly spend the money on performance/safety improvements way before buying new headlights.

I would argue that headlight are a safety upgrade. Getting rid of the crappy US spec headlights and replacing them with ZKW euro spec headlights is one of the best things I have done to my car. Night vision is soooo much better.

I've been running my xenons with euros for a long time that I forgot how bad the originals were. I rode in a fellow member's M3 the other night, and his headlights were atrocious. I don't know how anyone lived with those.

Such as removing the eyebrows and further upgrading critical vision factors such as HID fog lights.

In actuality, angel eyes serve a huge purpose in safety, they replace day light driving lights and still attain a pleasurable decorative affect.

So did the retro fit of your HID's work out well if you did it flawlessly?

Kinda. The eyebrows help the car streamline through the air better.

HID kit on order, refuse to do HIDs in fogs. I may upgrade the bulbs with a hid matching bulbs though.

"Flawless install" is about as far from the truth as humanly possible. I bought the entire set (Bosch Projectors, and ballasts and bulbs from an OEM 5 series) from a vendor who was selling his personal kit off his car. So, I didn't have to do dremelling or anything. The only problem was that with my CAI, the lights wouldn't fit. I had to cut a few small plastic pieces off the light and then part of the mounting bracket for my intake...and it was still and really tight fit.

So, I didn't put the package together myself and STILL had problems. It was worth it in the end though.

That's what I want to hear. If so, PM me what I need in order to make this successful and painful. It would be a real big favor.
