A bit off-topic but for comparison, these are Valeo E-codes from my S4 with 4100K D2S Philips ballasts.

The beam is considerably wider and much more even than my ZKWs. The cutoff is sharper but note the "tick up" is limited by the "Z"-pattern.

Anyway, I thought you guys would like to see what Audi provides in their European cars. The Valeo projector lens is better than ZKW but the whole housing is plastic and doesn't feel as robust as the ZKW.

Thats a very nice pattern. Love that blue to it too lol.

If it was bought in the US, they arn't allowed to tick it up right, which is why the ZKW's arn't DOT approved lamps.

BOSCH are most certainly BMW factory, I have them in my car and they have a BMW part number.

They're only available on the Euros with horizon adjustment (or "vertical adjusting stepmotors" which sounds pretty flash). This basically allows you to adjust the height of the focal point of the beam from inside the car.

If you have a US M3 and use the BOSCH units you'll end up with gear you don't need or can't use, hence the recommendation for ZKW as an upgrade to the US lamps I believe.

The BOSCH units have "tick ups" just like the ZKW's and, for that matter, so do all Euro lights.

As for quality, I have no idea as I've never compared them. Suffice to say, I'm completely happy with my BOSCH units.

You can control the direction of the headlights from inside your car? That's wild! :bugeye: Once again the euro M3 comes out on top with this perk. :bs:

I saw that on a euro x5 delivery we had... talk about weird... I couldn't park cause it was RHD. Anyways, it has a knob where you can set the headlight aim up just a tad.
