I just wanted to come on this site and warn you guys. If you see a Jeep Grand Cherokee w/ the 5.9L emblem, don't race him... hahah.. especially if its raining. You will get smoked. haha.



But yeah.. beat yall to 60 where I shut it down. Gotta say tho, after that that sombish pulls like a mother to 100 (this is why i know he was racing... cuz it was a 45 zone to begin w/ and looked pissed... lol).



BTW: Raced 3 times and same results each time.

I just wanted 2 come on this thread and warn u i can smell a ARSE BANDIT, he drives a jeep grandpiano cherrykeyyyy. Its engine smoke very badly, so when he goes 2 60 mph HE has 2 shut it down.

meh... i'm not tryin to say that the M3 is some crappy import. In fact I really like em, when I'm not 19 and can afford one I'll pick one up. But yeah.. fact is that on this night, i did in fact beat a M3, like it or not. And to say that Jeep's are a piece, no dice. My 260 hp and 355 lb(FIPK only) + 4wd+ rain isn't something to raise your M3 nose at.



Just thought I'd see what kind of responses I'd get. So yeah.. relax. :beer:

Though the 5.9's do have a lot of power, I don't see how they can beat an M3. I have a 5.2 which weighs almost 400lbs less than the 5.9 and has about 20HP less, so I can imagine how the 5.2 would drive.

I'm guessing that the M just had bad tires for the rain or something.



By the way, how did the intake give you 15HP and 15 ft./lbs of torque. I never felt much difference after installing my FIPK, sept for smoother acceleration and nicer sound.

The main difference isn't in the 20hp.. it's in the torque. The 5.9 has 45lb more. That's what really gets you going. Oh and the 15 extra horses... I noticed it pulled noticeably stronger and smoother... that and they advertise 26hp gain.. so I'm goin somewhere in the middle. (dyno proven for 16hp) Meh.. I don't know guys. In the rain, I don't care what tires you got. I win to 60.

5.9L oooohh.....aaaahhhhhh!! Whatever, a 4X4 challenging sportcars on wet pavement, that's a big no no for us first of all.

Want to do it anyway? Roll the dice against an X5 4.4, not big enough for your big bad Jeep? Feeling bold? Go against the 4.8is......poor you...

Hmmm... find one in NC for me to run, and I will. Make that case Corona in nature. haha. You guys need to open your minds to the possibility that some vehicles lacking a BMW symbol can be fast. Look up the specs. They really aren't shabby. I can run down the lower of the 2 Porsche Cayans(sp). Never had the opportunity to race a X5..

meh.. i said nothing a/b twisties... that's why I'm considerin a M for my next vehicle. But straight line... take it or leave it. BTW.. its my Jeep, not my dad's. Some of us don't have our daddies buy us our cars. Meh.. I'm not gonna argue a/b whether or not a beat some dude in a M3 anymore.. it happend.. take it or leave it.



Oh and the 04 M3. Yeah.. completely different vehicle than the 97-99. So go think a/b it... sides, it's a woman drivin it....

Mudbogger, lets get something clear. Pulling up next to someone on the highway then flooring it is not a race. Maybe you have the fastest mudbogger around, but who cares. We all know there are faster straightline mudboggers, suped up WRX's (now that would take you in the rain, heehee) and lets not forget the sorta fast stationwagon seen here:

Heck, when I was a kid my dad had a 60 something impalla SS that came stock with like 350 hp and torque out the wazoo. I bet it would beat an e36 in a mudbog race.

Faster or not in a straight line, no one here is ever going to give you the satisfaction of saying your mudbogger is better in any way than an e36. Why don't you go go down to your local offroad/mudboggersRus store, get yourself a new chrome bumper, a couple of cup holders and some naked lady mudflaps and try to connect with other members of your species who understand where you're coming from.

If I had a fast mudbogger, I would pull my bass boat down to the swamp with it, drink a bunch of budwider, and brag to Jimbob about the time I 'beat' one of them fancy German M3's in a mudbogger race too. Hmmmmmmmmmm.........

I guess we're not so different afterall.
