You guys know I'm a huge bmw fan but lately I just can't find a bmw that I really like. :fuming: I'm really disappointed with my e46 M3 test drive. In fact the only bmw that I would consider buying at this point is the M roadster. Unfortunately they don't even make that car anymore. I walked over to the Porsche dealership and checked out some porsche boxsters. The s type is bad ass! Its got a 3.2 L engine with 250hp. I really hope bmw makes an M version of the z4 or I'll end up on the dark side. :antismili

DUDE sorry but the boxsters are a discrace to the porsche name...the body style rapes the porsche image.and to tell you the truth i think they just look cheep...and dont get me wrong i think if i could have any car in the world i think i just might end up with a porsche...no offense on taist in cars man... -
Wait for the M2, it's coming soon with about 300hp cheaper than the current M3. Boxter? C'mon dude....that's a chick's car, just like the Z4.Comment

Haha! Same here! I thought I was the only one. Well, except for your Boxster idea.....but BMW is not going downhill, they're going off a cliff. The new M5 has iDrive and a lagging HUD. After the Z8, nothing is the same anymore, except their horrible service.
Mercedes is cheap now, might as well go Lexus(wait for the hybrids!). Come on, Chrysler Mercedes?? Hbtah! BMW? Half of them is produced in China?!ha! Looks like Audi/VW/Porsche now....atleast they're doing something right.Comment

I'd have to say the performance of these new BMW's are good, but that doesn't make up for it's horrible design, feel, luxury, ease of use...etc....for now...wait till we get BMW's from China! Ultimate luxury!

iDrive is horrible, had myself looking at the thing most of the time when at the stealership, never have I been at a stop sign so long. As for the Boxster S, friend's cousin traded his 02 M coupe for the Boxster S. Got to see, ride, drive. I can tell you it's not on the level of the M coupe, under IMO. But it's still nice, not hating the car...just saying it's not worth it. Now iDrive, I hate it and it's not worth it. Who's idea was it to have iDrive?Comment

Beside the new generation GT3's and Cup car's the Boxter S is the only (new) purist Porsche out. Anyone who knocks it has not driven it. I love 911's, my old man drives one, but the newest generation (996) are to big and heavy...Porsche built the Boxter S as a "cheap" alternative to the new 911's and in my opinion it is superior to them in every way (w/ the exception of the GT3's and Cup's). It's sure not a 914, anyway 914's are AWESOME handling cars...I agree w/ direction of BMW and I say go for it buddy, those pocket-rockets are a BLAST to drive...one of the best stock-handling and sounding cars I've driven (w/ the motor right on your back and a sweet exhaust-note).
