parking ticket

Ok, so I was walking back to my house today, car parked right in front of the house. I see a piece of paper on my windsheild that turns out to be a parking ticket. I knew I parked legally and when I read the ticket, it said that I didnt have the front license plate displayed in the correct spot.:banghead: Has anybody ever even heard of getting a ticket like this while being parked? Thoughts? maybe just commiserate with me.



Who in their right mind would want to have a stupid ass license plate distrupting the perfect lines of an M3 front spoiler?

That is a very shallow person that wrote that ticket. I agree that an M3 looks so much better without the front plate that I risk a ticket every time I drive mine. I have the plate in the trunk and my story all made up. I rigged a fake broken mount to the front grill (Broken black zip ties) and will say that it fell off in the car wash just the other day.

Yup, I've gotten that same ticket before. I was told that since the car is parked on a public street, any license or decal violation can be ticketed... sucks...

yeah that's the truth. I got pulled over for it in virginia and I barely got out of it--I had a story too. If you have to put one on, at least get a nice license plate frame so it doesn't look cheap.

My buddy got one of those on his car...Havn't gotten one myself (knocking on wood). It's so ghey. I've got my plate in my car too along w/ a story bout how I just took it out of storage and I havn't gotten my plate bracket in the mail yet...I'll risk the ticket though. Isn't it just a fix-it ticket though, or are you gonna have to pay?

Thats kind of screwy. At least its a non-moving violation, so no points. Just pay it and move on.

It was for $50! What sucks about it was that the ticket was written around 2am! Cops got nothing else better to do! :soapbox:

I got the same ticket in SF. It's only $10 if you put the plate on and go to the DMV for somebody to verify that it's on (fix-it ticket). It's so rediculous, but in the end I just put a front plate on because I don't want to keep going to the DMV.

I just got one last Saturday. Here in Houston most cops don't give a damn, but it was the 13th that day so what can I say.

I got a similar ticket in San Francisco. It was for no registration on my plates. Any public street is fair game for the Poo-Leece. It wasn't a fix-it ticket either. I still had to pay $50 whether I got the registration or not. Just park on your drive way, and they can't touch you.



About the front licence plate thing.... IT'S CRAP! I'm in Texas, and it's the same thing. I refuse to put a front plate on my M3. The truth is though, a cop has to be pretty bored or extremely pissed to give you a ticket for no front plate.



If anyone can verify this for texas let me know. I've heard the plate just has to be visible from the front. So I can put it in the dashboard while I'm driving and be OK.

Missery makes us run front plates. When I was a kid I had a Z-28 that i refused to put a plate on. Got pulled over so often that I had to put it back on. It was not worth getting pulled over for that stupid reason, and then they find out the car reaked of pot. They use it as an excuse to see what else you are doing wrong. a hol es
