For me, A/C and cruise are the 2 options that I really want in a street car, so I would remove those last. I also wouldn't remove the power steering on an M3. Here is what I would do:

            1. Lightweight wheels. Best place to remove weight.

            2. Remove back seat - free and easy, and easy to reinstall.

            3. Replace front seats with lightweight racing seats. The stock seats are very heavy so you can save a lot of weight here. However, the stock seats also look and feel great so this is a personal decision. This is also easily reversible.

            3. Lightweight body panels. CF hood and trunklid, M3 LTW or CF doors. Expensive and not as easy to reverse.

            4. Remove carpet and sound deadening material. Free, but will make the car much less civilized on the street.

            5. Remove sunroof and convert to a solid roof car. Saves about 30 lbs up high.

You can then get really radical with lexan windows, CF dash, etc.
