Be aware seein the 79 and up 5-0 mustangs on the street. They are so cheap toi modify and can get some serious power. My coworker had an 89 police intercepter that was unreal, i think it ran mid 11 quater miles

I rarely see the new mustang gt's (intentionally uncapitalized) 99% of the new mustangs I see are V6's. I hate that crap. Back to the GT.... I know they're 0-60 in 5.1, but they just look slow. The stock wheels that come on them look like they came off of a tercel. They sit rather high, so the handling can't be any good. I've read reviews and the steering has a loose feel (much like every year of the mustang), on top of that the throw of the stick shift doesn't have a sporty feel to it. So even if they are faster I wouldn't trade my 95 M for a new GT.

To 120 as stated before, I think it would be a close call. I don't think that the stock M3 will pull out on top having lost .5 or so seconds to 60. It would definitely be a driver's race. But in the end who's the one in an M3, and who's the guy making payments for the next few years on one of the fasted depreciating sports car to come out of america.

I didn't think it would be that big of gap either. It may have been an automatic GT they were talking about, i'll try to find it.

you dont really have to worry to much about mustangs unless they say cobra, shelby, mach 1, or boss on them.

I had a 2000-2004 Mustang GT? convert pull to me at about three straigth lights. I wasnt in the mood for racing so there was no reving or anything. BUT.. At the third red light they started to pull away fast at the light ..so i got next to em in about 2nd...... what do you do ??? I hit it! They Hit it !!! to make a long story short............in third gear i was pulling away...no problem....... at about 70 (in a 45)i let off and that was it ....you should have no problem with the GT. And this was before i was modified..........off the line they are fast but after that you should get em...im not sure if its how their 1st gear ratio is? shoot what is our 1st gear ratio?

Shoot what are all of our gear ratios if anyone knows this? (stock)

Yeah it's funny about the mustangs of the 90's. When they had 215hp in the V8, they had an SHO Tauras available (what a POS) and it had more hp---225!!!!

              Um, yeah...No thanks.

I had a 90 gt and modded those things are beasts. But nothing is as elegant and refined as the M. Plus I dont feel like I am going to go 5 feet sidways when I turn.

 that's probably one of the main reasons why i hate them so much; plus, everyone who has one only has a v6 model

my buddy has a bolt on modded 95 GT and I have a 99 M3 both 5 spd... we ran each other for fun and I had no problem beating him... then we got into the twisties and I killed the stang... we let each other drive each others cars once.. and that thing drives like a boat...

his car makes a really mean roar (I think he has BBK or BDK something like that intake and some X pipe flowmaster exhaust or something and he had some kind of lowering springs and shocks.. sorry I'm not really into mustangs so I don't quite remember the brands)...
