Unfortunately the M is going to have to go. If I lived in a climate where it didn't snow I'd keep the M, but I think the S4 is the more practical car for me right now. 310 hp should be fun though. I'm looking forward to it!

I have a RS2, with a few mods, pretty fast car and great in wet condition, but you will miss your M a lot. You can´t find the feel in any other car. Can´t stand my car anymore !!! I would love to go back to an Euro spec even knowing that is slower.

                just my 2 cents ...

I know that it doesn't have the same feel as the M, but in Sao Paulo, you don't drive in the snowy mountains very often I bet.

No I really don´t ... I just drive over the worst tarmac in the world .... And one of the worst traffic too. The car has a feel of an old VW. Weight Distribution sucks. The in line 5 weight as the A8 V8 engine, and is mounted in the very front of the car. If you don´t get used to drive it, you get lots of understeer even with the quattro. This Quattro needs a limited slip Diff fornt and back .... and big ARB in the back to get the rear end loose.

The B5 S4 is a nice car, much better looking than the B7. Those new Audis just sucks ...

Bought a 2001 S4 new and sold it 2 years later and picked up an older M3 sedan. Both cars are nice but I do prefer the M3 and echo the sentiments of many of the previous posts.

Hello, first post here. I just wanted to let you know to be careful when putting an aftermarket chip into a S4. I have dyno'd several stock and chipped S4's on an dyno dynamics awd dyno and those little turbo's when boosted up too much get white hot, and after a few passes any performance improvment is negated by the amount of heat built up by the engine. What I've typically seen is 1st dyno pass a chipped S4 will make ~220ish whp, and by the 4th pass it will be down to ~170ish whp (if these numbers sound low to you remember that AWD cars have more drivetrain losses). The Audi's also run incredibly lean for a turbo car which imo doesn't help with the heat issues one bit, typical A/F ratio's are 14.2:1 at WOT, instead of adding fuel like a typical turbo engine the Audi ECU will pull out ton's of timing instead.

The losses are expected as you don´t have the right amount of air on a Dyno. that they run lean is not an issue, you can change it with a press of a button during the custom remap. The boost limits in those small turbos has to be respected, as they have their efficiency zone in "low" boost ranges, thats why we use the overboost, to increase the torque and than the boost goes down again, this used to avoid overspinning and to keep the turbo in the right zone. This kind of power that you refer should be stock, as saw a Few with custom remap over 320 HP at the crank and over 500 NM of torque. Those are pretty good engines to tune the wright way.

                              Just my 2 cents
