A few weeks ago I had one passenger in my car while racing a friend of mine with a 96 E36 with CAI. After racing multiple times on the highway, i noticed that his car pulled on mine slightly - also depending on who got the jump off first. Moving on, about 2 days later i took my car into the shop for a weird noise that turned out to be the vanos, which was replaced along with 2 pulleys and 2 tensioners, while it was in the shop - i ordered a Shark Injector for the car and installed it today. Taking it out in 1-3rd gears, i only noticed that the raised rpm limiter did make a slight difference, but not much difference in actualy TQ or HP. I called the same guy with the 96 and raced him again, def pulled on him a little bit right away, but remained even through 3rd gear until top of 4th when i started pulling away. From a rolling start, i def pulled away from him a noticable amount. Whether or not this is a result of the new vanos control unit or the Shark Injector - i dont know? but i am not to sure where the gains were coming from, despite his argument that he had a 180 lb passenger in the car (uhuh, suuuuure buddy :rofl2: ).
Ne WHO, I think i got ripped off with this Shark Injector and wondering if i should even attempt to return it and spend the money on an intake or will the addition of an intake to the software mod increase performance more than just one or the other? OR if i should allocate my funds toward a different mod?
Thanks guys
