    1999 E36 w/ Shark Injector

A few weeks ago I had one passenger in my car while racing a friend of mine with a 96 E36 with CAI. After racing multiple times on the highway, i noticed that his car pulled on mine slightly - also depending on who got the jump off first. Moving on, about 2 days later i took my car into the shop for a weird noise that turned out to be the vanos, which was replaced along with 2 pulleys and 2 tensioners, while it was in the shop - i ordered a Shark Injector for the car and installed it today. Taking it out in 1-3rd gears, i only noticed that the raised rpm limiter did make a slight difference, but not much difference in actualy TQ or HP. I called the same guy with the 96 and raced him again, def pulled on him a little bit right away, but remained even through 3rd gear until top of 4th when i started pulling away. From a rolling start, i def pulled away from him a noticable amount. Whether or not this is a result of the new vanos control unit or the Shark Injector - i dont know? but i am not to sure where the gains were coming from, despite his argument that he had a 180 lb passenger in the car (uhuh, suuuuure buddy :rofl2: ).

Ne WHO, I think i got ripped off with this Shark Injector and wondering if i should even attempt to return it and spend the money on an intake or will the addition of an intake to the software mod increase performance more than just one or the other? OR if i should allocate my funds toward a different mod?

    Thanks guys

well ur not going to be able to get a refund.. but ur also suppose to have an intake for this setup.. and i believe an exhaust too.. but u definitly need the intake.. either way the gains are minimal with this setup but they are still there.. slightly.. and the raise in rev limit helps but not until u get the M50 manifold.. but by then ur car may run too lean and ull be back to needing new software.. im in the same boat.. i have had the shark for awhile.. but have yet to change it out.. its working fo rnow.. but when the manifold goes on.. its back to the starting point..

I dont think i am going to do heavy mods to my M3 but i would like to see a nice little increase in power - do you think i should get an intake filter or a whole new intake setup? Also i was thinking about getting an exhaust, but its too loud for my liking - anything else i could do to see some more power?

      Thanks man

This wouldn't be Andrew would it? If so, how was the drive last night?

On a side note, I don't think you can return the shark injector because once it's used on a car, it encodes the vin number into the injector. That way it can't be used again on another car.

yeah, its me...whats up trevor....it was good...we took it off the line a few times...first 2 times i kept ****ing up but still pulled on him, then since i hadnt launched in quite a while, i got the hang of it, and it was pretty smooth sailing from there, everytime...at anyrate...what would you suggest my next mod(s) should be?

                    thats ridiculous guys....

Call TMS and tell them you arent satisfied with the shark injector and return it. all sales are NOT final.

This is why you purchase some items with a credit card. If you arent satisfied, call your credit card company and stop payment.

I believe you have 30 days to return it.

well.. in my case..there is no returning it.. having it so long probably doesn't allow me to do that.. ahaha..

yeah but theres a return policy on the site and it states no returns on electronic items unless its from manufacturers defect at which point they will return at a 20% restockin fee - www.bimmerworld.com

I mean, im not tryin to be a cheap ass, but the thing really doesnt prove to be all it claims - and i would much rather spend my money on a cam kit or m50....

Let me know what you think..thanks

so what your sayin is taht the shark injector is useless without the intake?? if you were to get jus the intake and not the M50 then would u still see some kind of gain and by how much usually?

I think its funny you call a mod useless when you never took the car to the dyno to view anything. A but dyno is not very good for performance benchmarks.

Why don't you go spend the $45-70 and find out what it does for yer car.
