C43 Head unit

is there a difference between a c33 and c43 headunit? i have the c43 headunit and am selling it is why i wanted to know.

I believe the c43 is the upgrade from c33 and that the c43 came with RDS whereas the c33 did not

C43: deletes weather band, adds PTY to display program sound type, RDS for radio station ID, and increases voltage output for slightly louder sound.

CD43: adds in-dash CD player. Supports random playback. No mp3 capability without an addition kit from places like EAS. about $300 used

Everyone wants CD43's because they can display Ipod song names and artist with certain connection kits as well as radio station information.


Some people on eBay sell CD43's with M logos on them to cover up a land rover logo - since they are at the same headunits.

I have heard that the ones with the ///M logo to cover the Rover logo sometimes light up a different color.


I would still not trust those. Buy one that says "BMW Business CD" and you'll be fine.

Nothing should lite up there as there is no LED and I doubt the maker of the headunit would add at light just for the one version. I am pretty sure it just has a different name printed underneath. As with here where it says BMW Business...

I have a cd43 with the M logo over the LR symbol, and it does not light up a different color. Maybe some do, but mine does not.

Oh well. That's just what I had heard. Plus, it looks cleaner to not have a sideways ///M logo covering any of it. :thumbsup2:

Yes, some rover CD43's come in green; that is a fact... Some are also yellowish more than orange.
