    Euro Diesel fan

This is a DIRECT replacement to the stock fan. Much better option if you want to keep the stock fan clutch in your car.

Has an outer ring to keep the fan blades in place in case the fan does contact your fan shroud, and also flows more air. Originally came on the Euro diesel motors (M41 and M51) :thumbsup2:

yup. cal turned me on to this.. and he was correct.

direct bolt on to the stock clutch.

I read the thread on bimmerforums and they said it bolts right on, but the part numbers for the fan clutch for the diesel motor and the S52 are different, does anyone know if you have to buy the diesel fan clutch also, and if that bolts onto the pulley?

as with everything on BFc and on here you get some banter when no one actually knows. a couple of guys thought their stock clutch has 4 bolts.. wrong. it has 3, just like the diesel fan.

pretty much everyone else "did not remember" or their mechanic did the install.

the difference between the clutches is stall speed. it bolts directly to the stock clutch.

Guys in the Forced Induction forum of Bimmerforums were doing the Euro fan mod over five years ago; big deal if they could not spoon feed the details to you. I can't remember every details of mods I did 5 years ago, either.

YES, this mod has been around for a LONG time... Thanks Captain obvious. I run a Spal electric fan, and dont care about this fan.

YOU ARE WELCOME for sharing the info to the other 95% of the people who did NOT know about this

                    i thought so.

pretty easy to remember, pretty easy to prevent oneself from posting when one does not remember.

out of curiosity, what value to you bring to this thread?

cooler temps = more efficient motor

maybe i'll get one on top of my fan delete.... but losing back those 5whp for not having to drive the clutch is heartbreaking to me

                      thanks guys

5 whp? Is there a dyno of this? If that's documented I'll be looking at a full electric setup, but that number seems awfully high.

it is a complete pull-outta-my-ass number. I've looked for dynos but never seen one personally. Therewill be some gain however minor

A little more than you, in that I provided some information on where and when the mod originated. No need for the OP to have taken the dig at Bimmerforums or to have acted like he should be congratulated by everyone for making a post. Post for the good of the forum without any expectation of recognition.
