A little more than you, in that I provided some information on where and when the mod originated. No need for the OP to have taken the dig at Bimmerforums or to have acted like he should be congratulated by everyone for making a post. Post for the good of the forum without any expectation of recognition.

          dig at bimmerforums?

i dont care about the recognition, but I've recommended this mod to some friends that I would have excepted to know about. It seems like no one really knows... yes "we" know, but it seems that no one else did...

just an FYI for everyone

Asides from the bickering. I value your input. I fall in that 95% who didn't know that tend to keep forums active.

I still find it hard to believe that it's such a liability!

Appreciate the thread OahuM... I would have gotten this but my fan clutch and blade are new. Where would you order this anyway? Is it a special order item?

And whats with this Blackworks radiator? Never heard of this. These two things are completely new to me lol

yup. cal turned me on to this.. and he was correct.

direct bolt on to the stock clutch.

as with everything on BFc and on here you get some banter when no one actually knows. a couple of guys thought their stock clutch has 4 bolts.. wrong. it has 3, just like the diesel fan.

pretty much everyone else "did not remember" or their mechanic did the install.

the difference between the clutches is stall speed. it bolts directly to the stock clutch.

Thank you!! and I apologize for ruining your car thread!!

Does this fan make substantially more noise than the stock fan and how does it compare weight wise?

yes it makes more noise when the car is cold.. substantially? no.

it's much lighter than the stock fan as it is abotu 1.5" thinner with fewer blades.

                          stronger

                          thinner

                          moves more air

                          allows more clearance

                          ...dispenses free beer.

                          it's pretty much a godsend.

sweet... first good post on how the fan really is that I've seen, as I never got one, but went straight for the zionsville kit....

                              Thanks Ben :thumbsup2:
