Did you use the factory torque spec with the AKG bushings? I installed mine this weekend, but I just kept turning the nuts & bolts & the bushings were just mushrooming, so I stopped. Do you know what your bushings looked like once you got them torqued?

I may have spoke too soon with my last comment :taser:

How come you didnt give it a shot in doing some of the rebuilding yourself?

I need to get around to doing that this summer. Should be fun

I tightened by feel. I checked within the week to make sure nothing was loosening and then I forgot about it.

The bushings have no metal crush sleeve so you can't really tighten them to a set torque - you have to trust the polyurethane to keep the bolts/nuts tight.

AKGs don't have that problem. Just FYI for people that haven't purchased new subframe bushings yet.

If I didn't already have PF bushings, id have AKGs in my car right now

one clarification I'd like to know though...seems this Powerflex bushing cupping concern is on the purple ones, not the black ones..... the black ones have a durometer of 95A (like the AKG offering, right?)

what's the the durometer of the purple Powerflex bushings????

Rebuilding of what? I pulled everything apart and will be putting it all back together myself, but Calvin found the diff for me locally in Chicago so it was just easier to have him rebuild it while it was there... Changing clutch packs is not something that is very well documented yet and we weren't sure what all was involved, so I felt more comfortable having him do it... And I don't have access to a tumbler nor do any of my connections locally, hence why Joe had the subframe done at his job..

I work crazy hours and make good money, so as much as I love wrenching there are certain things that I'd rather just give my friends the business for...

Did you try calling me over the weekend?? I was up in VT away from civilization and had no cell service or anything... call me later and we'll chat :thumbsup2:

thats what I was curious about. Logistically definitely makes more sense for him to just do it if he had it.

                      perfectly acceptable question...

I know if I was gonna rebuild my diff Id have a go myself. But if you had it already and he wasnt sure then I can understand his decision.

I agree. Not knowing the circumstances, it seemed like a fair question. I don't think it was meant to be condescending.
