Great news: I found a new garage (Lucas Auto in Cypress, TX) and they fixed the headlights (which cost $460 to rewire - it was that messed up) and they installed the Michelin Pilot Sport tires and did an alignment and the car now has a good 1.5 inches clearance between the rear fender and tire.

The car handles like never before (finally).

Warning! H&R springs don't match Dunlop Durezza tires! That was the issue. It must cut it really close as some don't have that problem.

    $460!!!!!!!!!!!

what in the bloody hell! if someone tried to charge me that for rewiring a headlight....i don't even know. Neil are you literally out of your mind?

I think a plane ticket is less than that. But i guess it's all figured out now. I guess that's what happens with a 2k paint job

The Bosch headlights cost nothing compared to the bikini model headlights.

                  Our glass headlights have:

                  1) Regular beams (mine were dim).

                  2) Inner beams low (mine were out - (note the Bosch are orange colored)).

                  3) High beams (mine were broken).

                  4) Fog lamps (one was on the blink).

                  5) Corner lights (mine had to be mounted with twist ties because of the CHEPO tabs breaking).

                  6) OBC (mine was flashing due to low beams).

All of them were hard-wired. Why would I mess with that when the other company was on the hook with the credit card company. This is a 5 star garage with 170 ratings.

I wanted a professional to wire that damn harness - but it doesn't exist.

So how many hours should it take to rewire them?

Based on my salary, if I saved 3 hours it was a good deal.

:shifty: I think you're exaggerating that.

If you had all the euro pigtails hand wired in, it's a 3-6 hour job by itself. That doesn't include installing and re-aiming. I'm betting you didn't have that done though and it was more off the shelf DDM harness wiring.

This is the proper Euro wiring that I'm thinking of.

You will also be blinding on-coming traffic if you don't convert them to left hand drive if in fact they are bosch headlights.

If you bought them from someone in Europe(specifically in germany) than they are right-hand drive.. There are diy's on how to convert them. Basically gotta unscrew and turn the projectors in the housing, not that hard but if you have that shop do it for you it may be like a grand...lol

No. Europe does not mean RHD.

Well German cars are LHD to start with. Spain, France, Switzerland, etc etc... pretty much all European countries are LHD.

                              UK and around are RHD.

I make $80 an hour as a Computer Scientist (yes that's $3200 a week, $166,400 a year, and car repairs are tax deductible) My salary matches the highest in America according to Forbes. So I can afford to fix my car.

They charged me 4 hours labor and had to undo lots of random wiring issues. I put the claim in and since they are rated 5 stars with 173 ratings it's up to the bank to decide if they overcharged me.
