im sorry, I was unaware wheels on a car were a fashion statement like clothes. Im new here.

It's ok, I'm glad you're here and asking questions.. That's how we all learn.

On a black coupe I'd go 18x8.5 Sportlines with 245/35 PSS tires and call it a day.

            They actually are. Seriously.

SSR GT2's in 18's are some of my favorite wheels for this car. Same with Arc-8's, but 90% of e36's with arc-8's look bad. LTW's are nice. Fikse FM5's and FM10's are drool worthy.

And these: but im drawing a blank here. Forgot their name. Wtf.

                17x9 or 9.5, square, 40'ish offset and 245's although I wouldn't be completely against 255's

Its also about how much you wanna spend cheapest and lightest setup will be 17" 8.5 kosei k1s with 245 hankook rs3s...

FYI I ve billy sport and H&r sport running square kosei k1s 17" 8.5 with pilot pss and no spacer needed

Black on black rarely looks good, but here's a good example...

                        ***

I never cared for it really until I tried it. If it were me I would go with Arc8s at the moment I like those wheels.

Here's a couple more of black on black..

I've always been a fan of the classic CSL design on E36's:

That particular setup comes from VMR (18x8.5 ET40 all around). Certainly something to consider! PM me for more info!

thanks for your inputs everyone. I've decided to go with the csl reps or arc-8s in 18x8.5. Also gonna look for the hyper silver finish. Is a 40mm offset pretty standard? What about a 35mm? Has anyone ever done business with this guy from NY for a set of csl reps? http://new-york.locateanyauto.com/auto-parts/18-amp-19-bmw-csl-style-323i-325i-328i-330i-335i-525xi-528xi-530xi.html

I'd personally tell you spend a little extra cash and buy the CSLs from a vendor on here that you can trust and get great service from. European Auto Source, ECS Tuning, and Modbargains keep this place running, so the least you could do is throw them some business:twocents:
