I never said you had to wear gloves. I'm pointing out that your alcantara is going to wear out and I totally understand why people do not want it. Either they are too lazy to be clean and clean it (which will slowly degrade it anyway) or they are too cool to wear gloves.

That's what I use. They need to be replaced every 20k miles +\- depending how much you excrete.



I'd prefer just plain black with no logos though.

i thought this was a shift knob thread, and by the way i love my zhp , the old knob was broken and worn out so anything would of been an improvement, it does sit a little low but i find no problem shifting ,it has a nice chunking weighted feel to it, i think they sell a longer ie. taller version but i,m not sure.

yeah my question turned into 7 pages of randomness and people running zhp knobs. hmmm. i like how outside the box thinking goes around here.


i might be interested in a taller zhp knob. im not to concerned about looks i put lots of miles on my m3 and comfort comes first.

I currently have a ZHP with Bear's SSK. I'm thinking of trying out Bimmerworlds 'little nicky delrin', 4" total length.

If it weren't raining today, I would consider swapping my BMW Individual Daytona Violet knob out for my factory boot and ZHP knob. I did like the weighting not the ZHP knob, and I want to give the purple leather a rest. My only complaint is how low the ZHP knob is.

So I removed my BMW Individual shift knob and swapped in my ZHP weight knob. My purple leather boot really needs a cleaning. The ZHP feels nice in the mean time. My original leather boot sucks though.
