Removing Front Plate

I noticed my front plate coming off slightly -- probably because the car was repainted last year and it wasn't reattached that well. Gets me thinking that I should remove my front plate. I haven't really gotten a full look at what is underneath but I'm guessing I will need a little touch up paint to take care of the small drilled areas. Anybody else do this? Any removal tips? Will any more involved body work be needed?

Also, do the police bother you guys for no front plates? I had a CL43 amg for a couple years without a front plate and never got stopped. And they never bothered me on the R8 but that probably got an exotic pass. Don't need any extra harassment but feel like I should have done this years ago.

I guess it depends where you live and frequently park your car. I parked on a sidewalk for awhile in the city and they gave me a ticket. But never got pulled over for not having one. If you always park in a secured location then it might be worth a try.

I purchased these a few years back until I had the holes filled and bumper repainted. I’ve been without a front plate for 5 or 6 years and have never had a problem.

I am in NY as well
NYPD doesn’t bother me about no front plate

1 Stoped me, just showed up a PBA card and told him the front plate is in the trunk
