    S54 Stock Cylinder Head Height

IIRC the s54 cylinder head height per TIS is 146mm +/- .005 I believe.

I’m about to send off a head to get decked but suspect it may have been shaved already.

I was hoping if someone is building snd engine or has a spare head sitting that has never been resurfaced if they can take a quick measurement of the height for comparison to mine.

I want to avoid sending a head over and then saying it cannot be decked anymore.

Measurement on my end is 146.23mm with my digital caliper but was having a hard time ensuring measurement accuracy.

    Thank you.

I just checked 2 sets of heads (1 has def been cut), and both are right around 146 mm…sooo, you should be good.

I’m sending out a head to Lang Racing that appears to have been cut before already so trying to figure out thickness of head gasket if needed.

Thanks for your update. Didn’t see this until now.

As long as the head isn't warped or anything, a good machine shop can skim/clean up cut only.005", and that shouldn't impact anything.
