Question about E46 M3 Carbon Plenum / Airbox with Kidney Ducting Kit from Bimmerworld

Does anyone have this? Any feedback with this product? Kinda debating to get this one instead of karbonius.

Would be interested to see exactly how it fits.
These are their notes on it. NOTE: Will require modification for fitment. Radiator must either be custom mounted at an angle or reduced in height to make room for the kidney ducts. This is for race and heavily modified cars only!

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone with this before. I would love to see someone make it happen. I think this would look ludicrous

Agreed that this doesn’t look at all familiar. I’d stick with Karbonius which is a known good airbox.

A renown E46 specialist in my area noted that they believe there to be stronger power gains with this setup vs Karbonius as an example. I have no data to back it up, but take that for what it’s worth.

I would stick with a Karbonious box, or as they call them "cheap copies from Europe", although maybe they are referring to the GSR boxes from the UK.

Just for fun here is the full write-up from BW:

Our E46 M3 Carbon Plenum / Airbox with Kidney Ducting Kit takes the motorsport airbox to the next level. The stock M3 setup is fine for a stock car, and it's perfectly capable of moving the air required to make the base 333 Hp with the minimal induction noise - as a luxury car should have. On the other hand, if you're upgrading your car with a built race engine, exhaust and headers to move the most air possible and make big power, this carbon airbox has the ideal design to support the effort.

This carbon airbox is a reproduction of the BMW Motorsport part with a few changes to make it work even better. This high-quality unit is made from high-grade carbon fiber with internal trumpets and proper fittings, unlike many cheap copies from Europe that only look similar from the outside, and only from 10' away.
Motorsport Version with Kidney Grill Ducting - Motorsport intake, internal BMW Motorsport panel filter (included), fitting for air temp sensor (not included), no mass air fitting. Requires alpha-N type ECU programming or standalone engine management (inquire with us for options). Recommended for use ONLY on built race engines making 400+ Hp. The kidney grill ducting system has the added advantage of drawing its air source from the high pressure zone at the leading edge of the hood, meaning greater airflow at speed and the potential to produce even more power. Note: For engines with stock internals, the 120MM version is available in a separate listing.

An alternate air temp sensor (PN 13 62 1 725 323) is required when converting to Alpha-N and is available separately. Installation requires splicing a plug for this part to your existing HFM wiring.

While we are able to special order this part to be used with the stock HFM, we do not recommend this. We don't feel this part can be tuned properly without Alpha-N or standalone tuning, and we do not support an HFM-based box with software.

NOTE: Will require modification for fitment. Radiator must either be custom mounted at an angle or reduced in height to make room for the kidney ducts. This is for race and heavily modified cars only!

It looks like a lot more work than it's worth.

"High grade" yet fails to mention technical details.

This looks like the kind of thing that looks good on paper but people regret purchasing and end up with what they originally wanted.
