    Lets talk about Roque Engineering

    Hi guys
I order 4 days ago one diff bushing the front one from roque engineering.
I thought its good company so why not.
I pay 34$ for fedex ground so hopefully it will take less time to receive it.
After 3 days that i didn't see my order shipped i e-mail them and i received very quick that my order is ready and next day they gonna shipped.
Next day i receive an email with pic of my package that it was usps and the shiping cost it was 28$ so i send another email to see if happens any mistake and the answer it was fedex have issues and we send it with usps bla bla bla....
And at the end it was the best answer ever from a serious company like Roque:
"If you feel that the USD$5 difference in shipping is a huge issue, we are happy to refund this difference."
    Thats the roque engineering guys.
Ps.i can send a screenshot of the email if someone doesn't believe that

I mean…..is it really that big of a deal? This really doesn't have anything to do with Rogue Engineering as a company and their ethics, especially considering they said they'd refund you the $5.

Really, as for me its not a big deal, i ordered from them power pulleys, and they even sent them to the other side of the planet, and it took about month or maybe more

I wouldn't sweat this one. Audibles need to happen from time to time, they were responsive and willing to make you whole.

I’m a little confused? Is this a “Wow Rogue Engineering is a bad company” thread or a “Wow Rogue Engineering is an awesome company” thread? As far as I can see, this is no big deal. I’m actually surprised they were cool enough to refund you the difference. They were quick to respond and make things right, the world is still dealing with the consequences of Covid especially shipping issues. What are you mad about?

This would bother me tbh not so much cuz of the $5 but just the vibe. Kind of like if you pay a tab at a restaurant and they dont give you the change until you ask lol

Tbh, agreed. I guess we're going against the grain here (but I also don't have the whole backstory, from what it seems there was a fb post) but if I were the company and I charged $34 shipping and only paid $28 to actually ship it, I'd refund the customer without him having to ask, and explain why. Saying "If you feel that the USD$5 difference in shipping is a huge issue, we are happy to refund this difference" really sounds bad to me, like "oh we can just keep the $5, and if you're enough of a cheapass to ask for it back, then here you go". $5 isn't much, but it just doesn't sit right with me to have that kind of attitude

it should be accepted that shipping fees charged are a flat rate (not actual cost) and that companies actually pay significantly less out of their own pocket for every package they send due to volume discounts from their shipping vendors.

what is very unprofessional is (whether it was on purpose or not) revealing those actual cost to the consumer, and on top of that giving them sass about it when asked for an explanation

Shipping markup is a profit center, and it covers the fees you usually pay to maintain the shipping account, plus any boxes or handling labor.

The unprofessional part of this is ever letting the customer know. If a part cost you $5 to make and you're selling it for $50, would you ever, ever tell a customer that? Hell no. Same with shipping markups.
