Could also use the aux fan failure as an excuse to ditch both stock fans and do a Spal conversion for ~$250 including brackets. I’ve been running a 2082 hooked up to an aux fan controller that I salvaged all year with no issues including in traffic and on track. Just modify the DME fan curve so it turns on 100% by like 85C. I made a thread in coding and tuning and got good answers about how to do it.Leave a comment:

Shroud is different and won't work without modification, but you can swap just the fan into the M3 shroud.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but a quick glance at RealOEM shows two different part numbers. 17117561757 for the non-M and 64546988914 for the M3. The biggest difference appears to be the shroud; not sure if the fan itself is the same. Hopefully someone else can chime in with a definitive answer.Leave a comment:

E46 VS E46 M3 Aux Fan
Anyone know if there are any differences? They look the same but the one for the m3 i can only find genuine for like $600. Rock auto shows the part number for the regular 3 Series will work which i can get aftermarket for under $200. Anyone aware if this will work?
