E-brake Button Rattle Fix?

After years of dealing with a rattle coming from my center counsel, I accidentally figured out it's from the e-brake button rattling around. Would adjusting the brake fix this? It's literally the button itself moving around. The rattle stops as soon as grab the button while driving. Kind of funny at this point b/c I've taken my center counsel apart trying to find the rattle with no luck.

my issue was the button fell off, thread wore out ..
i re-thread the button, and also the thread on the linkage stick .. it's tight as fxck now ..

I have this every once in a while in my E39 M5. It stops rattling if I put the slightest bit of upward pressure on the handle — presumably removing slack from the cable. See if that helps for you, that would suggest that the cable needs to be tightened a bit I think.
