I fired up the car and let it ran to operating temperature and anyone in there must had jumped out fast. The weather seals are so good that they didn't get to the drug bin or the DME box.
Yeah, they will pee (clear liquid) and leave droppings all over the place, which is why it is critical to vacuum any debris, soap down the engine bay and scrub the under tray; otherwise, they will smell that and come back. After cleaning, any ultrasonic rodent repeller with good reviews should keep them away.

We have Jumppy the cat but she is not hungry to hunt the rats, or a 11 years old cat is wise enough not to waste times on this. I had seen her looking up the fence when it's noisy in there.

Cat or Rat Terrier dog. Rat terrier will do the job for sure.

Any brands we should look for? I thought they are all gimmicky products. My neighbor has a tall fence covered with fig vines and I heard the rats in there at nights. Car is next to the fence on driveway.

This one didn't like the wires but liked to eat soft rubber or silicone rubber.

Rats are incredibly annoying. I was very surprised to find no chewed-up wires in my engine bay with the amount of rat poop I had to clean out.

Sorry to see this. Looks to be an easy fix. Thanks for the advice, I often leave my car parked for weeks in the woods too lol

Check the drug bins for a nest.
Once they find a food source, they tend to find accomodations nearby.

I bought a car locally, but it had lived in Georgia.
Mice chewed the insulation of the driver side ballast wiring, and were working on the intake boot (yum!).
They had built a cotton castle underneath the ABS unit in the drug bin..

Numbers on the boots are the same, so yeah, the part number I posted above is the correct one.

Bummer man, same thing happened to me, except they ate a sensor cable on top of the engine. I always leave the hood open now.
