Now that you have INPA, you can clear any codes now without worrying. For me INPA is my go to scanner for my M3

It was an issue with an older version on the Foxwell scanner. I had to realign the EWS. I ordered a cable and installed INPA, worked like a charm. Thanks all.

All good advice. I am going to go the INPA route and get that downloaded and set up.

    or using a (paid) tool:

First and foremost, ECUWorx offer no warranty of any kind, we are not liable if you break your car by incorrectly flashing your ECU/DME. You do so at your own risk! You will require the following: A copy of the MSS5x Binary Modification Tool, available here A fully charged laptop and a copy of BMWFlash or MSSFlasher. Available from here: BMWFlash or a copy of from here: MSSFlasher A FTDI based OBD2 diagnostic cable such as a BMTechnic cable / BM or a KKL Vag-Com cable. yIf you don’t have one, you can buy one from here A trickle charger

Resync is probably the simplest option.
Yes ews is nice to have especially if you're not parked in a garage all the time. It's easy to beat the tumblers even with the Lazer cut. It's getting past the computer that's tricky to thieves. You remove that and you're making it that much easier to steal. Plus you're not 100% sure that's your issue. Try a resync like stated or get it professionally diagged. If you're not familiar with cars you can cause more problems trying to delete the ews, and then it's just more of a headache for the actual mechanic

This is for an x5, but the process is probably very similar for the e46: https://xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-forums/...code-4a63.html

If you can't get the scanner to work, INPA or DIS can do the realign.
I saw something on Youtube about an EWS delete, any experience with that?

Perhaps if you did an oil change you forgot to plug the TPS sensor back in near the the oil filter housing.
    No other service.

It turns over like it's going to start then dies immediately

Is this something that can be done with a scan tool?
