There will certainly be no charging of fees-- that's not what we're doing for anyone. If people add value to the forum/chassis they stay, if they detract they go.

Solid point. I haven't participated out of the fact that there hasn't been a product that aligns with what I'm doing or what my next mod will be. That said I love the products he's sourced and can't complain. Also I wear a tinfoil hat when I look on euroconnex as well, gotta be safe. This whole thread hasn't been productive honestly other than people complaining about a guy who sources products some of which would be unknown to the community at a discount. Imo delete this thread, if you don't wanna participate don't, or add him to your ignore list so he will no longer exist.

I completely understand being hesitant, I was too. But like many have said already, if you’re on any type of social media, google, shit the internet in general your data is being collected and sold. With that being said, it’s not hard (took me like a minute to sign up) to make an account with a different name and burner email account haha. As far as people saying just PM pricing, unfortunately, that’s simply not efficient/scalable. Very old school method to figuring out pricing. Honestly, I prefer being able to log in on his website to check any pricing anyways. It allows you to check pricing instantly vs waiting for a PM from a busy member running several GB’s on several different forums.

Good god, when did the people on this forum become so petty/snobby. Starting to sound like e46f around here. Simple as this, you don’t like his GB’s don’t participate in them and mute him. Otherwise quit bitching. You guys sound like a bunch of middle aged women nagging and asking for a manager. I don’t see the benefit in pushing him away. Do you want our platform to die? Do you want our community to be like all the mid to late 90’s cars where most parts are NLA? A community with little to no innovation for the platform (ie. 3000gt VR4 platform etc.). I’d prefer companies continue to develop new/interesting parts for our cars. If supporting epoustouflant helps that cause, I’m all for his efforts.

Lol, people can just create a spam email and connect that to the account on euroconnex and if they like the price then place an order using a prepaid visa card and send to a PO box and pick up at post office.

Honestly it doesn't take that long to create an account under a fake email.

i get what you're saying and i'm not comparing his level of data collecting to the the tech giants

what i'm saying is to some people it's not worth creating an account with him just to inquire about pricing, getting it through PMs is a reasonable middle ground

Answering PMs for pricing is an unscalable model - it is another reason why EuroConnex and its methodology exists. Creating an account once eliminates any redundancy in inquiring for pricing. It’s pretty clear there will be many more offerings coming and I tend to source what people actually want.

I’d have otherwise stuck to forum lists and would have abandoned after 3 attempts - it becomes quite evident for anyone that has ever ran any group buy using the old ways of forum lists that it is a tiresome process with little return when you start trying to value your time.

It is your insistence to irrationally whine & spread falsehoods about myself and EuroConnex even when presented with facts and rational explanations to the contrary that will lead me to leave this forum.

Arguing with trolls hiding behind alphanumerical avatars isn’t why I’m here - and unfortunately, it seems the social media polarization disease has spread here, through you, as you saturate & poison any debates and constructive discussions.

I don't see an issue with the GB's. I never participate because it is usually an overly extensive process to save a little bit of cash. Especially large ones. For example, with the 3.91 gears. I was in. 2 months later...I found them at a comparable price for the OE part. Didn't have to wait.

It does warrant monitoring and regulation. I think someone who is running multiple GBs should be identified as a vendor. Should be some verification as a bona fide business. If you are organizing a group buy then I believe you are engaging in a business activity, not simply an enthusiast. It can certainly be both.
