i don't have them anymore, but i can say that up until i had them on, they worked wonderfully. i had a engine failure (crack in the block) which resulted in a new used block and a rebuilt head (why not). while the engine was out, i found a great deal on SS V1 w/Catted Section 1. considering everything was out, it only made sense. time will tell if it was worth it because the euro heads and HJS cats would have been just as fine. unfortunately all this was done in the last 3-4 months during the "offseason" in the northeast so i havent taken my car out yet. at the same time, fresh block. fresh head, it's not exactly apples to apples.

but as i said, up until the day i had them on, they were great. whoever i sold them to (FB Marketplace) put them on and the only feedback was:
    - car had a throatier sound (freer flowing)
    - car did NOT have a smell (which is what we care about)
    - butt dyno was the car accelerated easier but we all know we hear the sound and we think the car just got 50HP more, so take that for what it's worth.

edit: with my new setup, i stuck with the SS Sport. i just sold my SS Race yesterday. the Sport is loud enough IMO given the louder sound from the freer flowing SS V1.

I can tell you for sure that the sport is pretty quiet but I also got an airbox so all I hear is the airbox sound.
Yeah I feel like I am in the same boat, may run my stock muffler until I can find a deal on a sport muffler as well. Thanks for your input.

First video you posted sounds great but I'm wondering if I should switch to sport as well. I'm more concerned with the sound and the slight drone/rasp at 3k especially when the engine is cold, wondering if I should go HJS cat route or try out the RE rasp pipes both seem to be around 1k give or take.

Great Thread, as I get older the smell is starting to annoy me too. Im guessing im going to save up and wait for a black friday sale and just get the SS Section 2 with cats for my V1 headers.

To ensure that they have been reset, it is best to use an OBD tool such as INPA or the ECUWorx MSS5X tool.

i feel it's completely worth it.
i was running catless and then put this on so performance wise, i feel like i didn't lost much/any from going back to cats.
considering these are HJS cats, they still have that performance aspect while doing their job with the smell/emissions.
    absolutely zero smell.

for comparison, this YT is of my Euro Headers, HJS-Catted Section 1, SS Res Sec2, and SS Sport Muffler.

Smells way less... power is there but at times the engine feels more "jerky" if that makes sense. Happens occasionally if I get on throttle too quickly and never did when I had no cats. Maybe my driving. Sound is a little less too, sad face. But for my life, as my daily, a little less sound has been a good thing.

EDIT: If I could go back I would've bought fattycharged's SS With aftermarket cats tbh.

Update: installed the Section 1 last weekend and drove it yesterday. Fitment was spot on. it was easier for me to section 1 and 2 and put it together outside of the care. i then used a jack, slid the section 1 in, fit section 2 to the muffler, then put the mid-brace on, and then torqued both ends.

Breakin: for those that don't know, from what i understand there is a break-in cycle for new cats, which is very simple. turn on and idle for 5 minutes, then rev to 2500 RPM for 2 minutes. turn off and cool down and that's it.

First drive: i don't know if the tone will change as i drive it more but after driving it, i'm a bit surprised. considering HJS claims upwards of 93-95% airflow, i expected the car to sound louder than my Euro Section 1. the result is the car sounds very timid. fwiw, i have Euro Headers, SS merged Section 2, SS Race Muffler. the drone is down to a minimum and the rasp is subtle but there...which i actually like.

i don't have any video yet but will put something together when i can. overall i'm pretty satisfied. i have a pretty good flowing system with a sound that isn't as loud as thought it would be.
