Rear shock mounts done at only 3K- recommendations?

Last year I went from stock suspension to Koni/Eibach and replaced all hardware top to bottom. Started getting clunking on rear passenger side about a month ago, mechanic says the mount has torn apart. I expect them to not last as long on aftermarket suspension, but this ain't right. I'm wondering whether it could be due to my former mechanic's employee botching the install, or just a defective part...anyway, I need to reorder and replace, so should I just stick with stock OEM parts, or spring for the Rogue Engineering mounts? Tried to find reviews online on the RE mounts, couldn't find much. Hoping someone here has feedback on them. Car is '04 cabrio w/ 8

I'm using the RE spherical ball RSMs.
It has only been a few hundred miles.
    NVH is near stock.
I'm running on Koni/Eibach with soft damper settings.
I replaced a pair of meyle HD RSMs, which still look good.

There is no way the stock mounts are ruined at 3k miles. Did he install the big cupped washers in the right direction?

I honestly don't know...everything was fine up until recently, the person who looked at my car recently said the rubber on the mount separated. I'm thinking it was a faulty install, as my former mechanic hired a kid who IMO doesn't know what tf he's doing, and the quality of work coming from that shop now is questionable. Shame as he was my mechanic for close to 20 years and had taken good care of my other cars in the past.

The rear right seems to be fine at the moment, but I'll probably have both replaced just to be safe

You can get a photo and see if he did it right very easily. One photo from the wheel well looking at the top of the shock and the other one from behind the trunk liner. It's just 2 pins and pull it away from the side to expose it.

If the washers are not installed or installed wrong you will have problems very quick.

            Stop jumping the car

no but I agree, incorrect install. "Mechanic" should obviously be replacing for free and double checking install per tis or at least realoem diagram.

Not installing the bottom washer is #1 reason rsm fail early. Without it, it’ll separate the mount.

As for the RE shock mounts, they’re legit. Never going to blow those out. Had mine for some 15 years. Even if rubber wears you can buy those rubber replacements and in firmer durometer too if not mistaken.
