This post is more of an FYI for those of you who have an Avin Avant4 head unit and are using an iPhone as a personal hotspot connectivity.
With the release of iOS 15, I saw that the unit stopped being able to connect to the phone's hotspot. It would show an error asking the user to check the password, even though the typed password was correct. Same phone, on iOS 14.x would work fine.
I have been in contact with the Avin support team over the last 2 weeks and they were able to provide a software update that addressed the issue.
Apparently with iOS 15, Apple introduced WPA3 encryption capability to the the hotspot feature. Even though WPA3 has backwards compatibility with WPA2 encryption, on the Avant4 this would not work.
With their software update, everything seems to be OK so far. I have asked Avin for an official release date / link for the updated firmware. I will post this here when I have an answer from them.
