Unfortunate news - Veteranco has discontinued the BM3109 that folks were using for pillars

Yep. Just bought some a month ago.Originally posted by Nate047 View PostJust got off the phone with Veteran Co, they have 240 yards of BM134 in stock, $41/yard

Ed, who is recovering your headliner, or are you doing it?Originally posted by lemoose View PostAnyone have any luck sourcing BM3109? I've checked both veteranco and cartopsplus and they told me it is discontinued, or not available with no ETA.
I have a ton of headliner and pillar material. Shoot me an email we can probably work something out.

They probably need this more than any other company has ever needed a new website LOLOriginally posted by K-Dawg View PostVeteranCo says they are working on a new website.
FWIW I bought some fabric from them in person a couple months ago. They have tons of different styles. Ordering by phone is probably the best bet if you're not able to go see the warehouse in DTLA.

FWIW, European Auto Interiors seems to be out of business. Couldn't complete an order on the website and phone appears to be disconnected. Placed an order with VeteranCo over the phone. Payment was a little bit cumbersome and shipping ended up being more than I expected, but I got the material I need. VeteranCo says they are working on a new website.

Ok great thank you. It's ridiculous the things we have to do... sigh.Originally posted by cobra View Post
Yes, eventually I got it. I used global upholstery BM3109. The trick was using 3M "90" industrial spray adhesive and removing the old felt backing from the pillar cover so the new fabric could bond directly to the plastic, which was a real pain in the ass. I then sprayed both sides and massaged it onto the panel. It stuck down and looks factory.
The A and B pillars you can probably leave the old felt attached, because there's no weird curves it needs to adhere to. The issue I had originally was that it would just pull up the fibers of the old fabric and so it wouldn't stick down.

Which one did you buy? Did you ever get it to work?
I'm thinking at this point to go non-OE. Total price for all new pillars is silly to spend.

Does the moonroof shade use the same material (BM134) as the headliner? On another car I owned, the shade used a material with thinner foam backing. Poking around on my car, the shade foam actually feels thicker than the headliner.

I haven't used the contact cement for headliner, but I used it for repairing the pillar trim on my E46 wagon. It was holding up great at two years (and it was parked outside) when I sold the car.Originally posted by heinzboehmer View PostAlso no experience with the weldwood stuff.
Contact cement is the same stuff used for Formica countertops, so it should last a really long time.
