Power Steering Leak

I have a leak involving my power steering pump (pics included). It's not severe, there are no drips, but its coats the pump. What is actually leaking? If I had to guess, I'd say its probably the input shaft. If so, is there a way to repair or overhaul the pump? Only option I can find is to replace the entire pump.

Reviving an old thread, due to same issue as the OP pics.

Any ideas on what would cause the pump to be coated in PS fluid (ATF)? My pump has been coated in a light residue for a while, with no notable fluid loss, whining or increase of steering force. I completely cleaned everything up last year and re-inspected recently to confirm the leak is PS fluid (vs. oil).

The leak has increased slightly and now there are a few drips (confirmed to be ATF) noticed on the slash shield directly under the low pressure hose connection to the pump. The reservoir has the typical coating, but both lines from the reservoir are dry near the reservoir.
