    INPA code crack

    Happy New Year!

After my 25 minute drive this morning, the car started hesitating, threw the yellow Service Engine Soon light. Luckily, it happened 1/8th of a mile from my destination but I was able to shut the car off about 1 minute or so after it happened. It did have a “knocking sound” right before I shut it down - but it sounded very similar when I had a coil pack go out as far as the “knock” I hooked up INPA but I am having trouble cracking the German riddles. [Attached]

I have been unsuccessful in obtaining an INPA code list. If anyone could share this list, it would be greatly appreciated.

I attached photos of the 3 errors I received.

    I appreciate your help!

Cubieman thank you for providing this list!

Based on the error code list, this is what I am throwing.

With these error codes combined, is there anything obvious going on here? Does this indicate a vacuum leak? Spark plugs and coils should be good they have been replaced in the last 20k miles.

170 Aux Air Quantity too Low

198 Misfire Cyl 3 with Cyl Cutout

214 Lambda Sensor Pre Cat Bank 1 Period Duration

Looks like the car is complaining about your O2 sensors — good and cheap place to start if mileage on them is unknown. You could delete the secondary air pump and code it out while you’re at it too, assuming that’s what 170 is referring to and you can get away with it at state inspection.

Clear codes and see what comes back. There is nothing really definitive there. Could either be coil pack on cylinder 3 or pre-cat O2 sensor bank 1. If the misfire moves around on bank 1, O2 sensor could be the cause. If it stays on cylinder 3, coil pack or spark plug on cyl 3.
