It's just a different type of bit the one from the third link.I wanted to make sure I had a backup option in case something weird happened with the first option. also the bit from the third option is an 8 mm wide bit I believe whereas the one from the first option is closer to a 10 mm. So I like having both options to see which I like betterOriginally posted by Tonggi View Post
Curious what is the point of the third link you sent if I get the first link with the whole kit?
Thanks for hte links. I will add to my wishlist!

and to finish i also got this spotweld bit as a backup that was recommended to me by 3M autowerks, they said they use a very similar bit they get from the snapon truck but this on looks virtually identical to what they use

I'm in for Karbonius, and I'll buy a CSL airbox with it too.Originally posted by Lip View Post
I agree, if people just want a great looking roof, just go with RKP. Putting on a groupbuy is a pain in the ass. I know because I've done a few.
Personally, I am on the waiting list for Karbonius since theirs is both autoclave (superior to wet hand lay) and have built in tabs for stock roof moldings (save $500). Plus, my personal discount (not shareable with this community, sorry) is lower than RKP shipped.

I'm a working a quote for 10+ to see what Brewer says. It's def not the cheapest option as it will still require a clear coat $300 usually, but structurally I know for a fact nothing will compare.Originally posted by fullyflaredd View Post
Would you be able to get a quote for 10+? $1750 is pretty steep. I don't doubt it's amazing quality, but Karb, RKP, etc are all cheaper options

Sending out a bunch of emails isn't really jumping through serious hoops, at least not for me. It's also one of those mods that I'm sure a lot of people aren't in a huge rush to buy, but a little convincing with a discount might sway them to purchase, especially if we could get Karb on board. At the end of the day every little bit saved helps. More money for other mods 😃

Ugh. Carbon roof is a couple items down in the todo list, but 100% down for a Karbonius group buy. If it happens count me in.Originally posted by fullyflaredd View PostSo Mark (member Feffman) spoke with ECS regarding a Karb group buy. Discount would be about $300-400 and shipping would be $135. Still waiting to hear more from them.

I asked for a rough quote for 5 roofs (below) if anyone is interested. These are non clear coated but they're prepreg and I will vouch these roofs have the best mold. I'm not trying to steal this just help out, but shipped individually and not all together these will prob come to 2k+ shipped. Yes the roofs are made from the original PTG mold. I have the Team PTG Naca Duct version. Besides the Lang roof which is super stiff with the divny cell foam core these are structurally strong enough that you don't need a brace. Roofs are shipped in a protected wooden crate.
BREWER MOTORSPORT LLC
BMW Team PTG E46 M3 GT
E46 M3 CFK Solid Carbon Fiber Roof
COST: $1,750.00
+Packaging: $100.00 x 5 roofs= $500.00 for 5 carbon fiber roofs and packaging materials.
+Insurance: T.B.D.
+Shipping: T.B.D.
More than 5 roofs can be ordered, I just asked for pricing of a small batch. With address I can get a accurate individual cost.
So Mark (member Feffman) spoke with ECS regarding a Karb group buy. Discount would be about $300-400 and shipping would be $135. Still waiting to hear more from them.
Also spoke with 2M, discount would be $200. So $1300 for the roof, and $200 for shipping if not in socal.
The Lang option seems nice as they are providing a decent discount, however having to clear coat it at whatever shop is installing might negate some of that discount.
Everyone we've reached out to has some sort of interest in a group buy, so at least that is good. Maybe I'll create a poll then we can proceed? My guess is a lot of people will lean towards Karbonius and will be happy to pay a premium. I'm wondering if it would be possible to get 15+ or 20+ people for a Karbonius group buy for better discounts. Just not sure how many people are willing to dish out ~$3k in total for a roof+install, or more depending on headliner etc.Last edited by fullyflaredd; 01-14-2021, 09:31 PM.

The M is practically done at this point. Just waiting on the spare Mile End Composites CSL front to get painted and will be picking her up tomorrow.Originally posted by Nate047 View Post
Who did you get this quote from? I would hit up Marc at Bavarian Workshop, he's done a few of these.
