Well, shop originally I was going to finally gave me a tentative price, so he's asking for over $2k for the install and i doubt it would take less than a week. Anyone else in SoCal know of a reputable shop?

Who did you get this quote from? I would hit up Marc at Bavarian Workshop, he's done a few of these.

Does 2M Autowerks manufacture their roof or are they a dealer for RKP, DTM, etc.?

They manufacture it. They started making them when they did their GTR build.

I think Lang or 2m both might not offer clear coated option.

Langs roofs don't come with clear coat. 2M does, they do body work.

Update from Karbonius - apparently their retailer in the US (ECS Tuning) has asked them to do a group buy. However they said if ECS does not go through with it, that we can go ahead and proceed on the forums. They said to please wait a couple of weeks. No mention of pricing or anything.

The price you paid is the same price I've seen for the parts. Not sure what the labor would be at my shop.

Quick update for everyone - still waiting to hear back from Karbonius. Although they initially responded, they have not told us yet whether or not they would be interested in a group buy.

i will give it a day or two to see if we can get another possible option and then type out a detailed summary with pricing at the end of this week and let everyone decide what we should do.

Someone PM'd me that a body shop in LA will do the full install for $1000.

This was a tally of what I receipts I had. There are other bits and pieces that I bought along the way, but those I decided to leave off since this is the crux of the build most people will use. Whatever else you replace is on you, but this was the majority of pieces you'll want. The windshield is subjective. I'm already taking it off, but might as well get new glass that isn't pitted.

You guys can debate prices on "you got ripped off" or "I got it at this price", but this is what I got and in the time of this pandemic, if you want a part, you pay for it. at least that's how I saw it...Good luck to the rest of you that go through this build.

We are still waiting to hear back from Karbonius.

If they ever respond and it's easier for them to do all the communicating in Spanish, I'd be happy to help out with that.

Yep spoke with Lang as well. Lang said $1260 for 5+ and $1125 for 10+. Shipping is approximately $200 depending on location within US.

Going to do a summary post of all the options soon and if we can get a consensus on who we want to go with, I'll start a separate thread. We are still waiting to hear back from Karbonius.

I'm waiting for 2m to start on the sedan CF roof in 1x1. I've been talking to David mendoza from there. He had to buy a sedan OEM metal roof to make a mold for the sedan CF roof.

I still wouldn't benefit from a group buy since mine would be a 1 off compared to everybody else coupe roofs lol

Worth the uniqueness and exclusivity for sure.
