I wanted to get your opinion on an issue I’m having.

I recently installed a Rogue Engineering rasp pipe (version 2.0) and a SuperSprint Sport exhaust.

Really enjoying the new set up but I’ve noticed a significant amount of fiberglass coming out of the exhaust. At first I thought it was weird but possibly go away after the exhaust broke in but it seems to have gotten worse and comes back after car washes.

    See the attached pictures.

I’m not sure if Rogue and/or SS use fiberglass insulation in these products so I’m curious if you guys know the answer to that question?

I'm trying to narrow down the source but I installed both items at the same time so it’s hard to tell without removing Section 1 and seeing if there’s any fiberglass in Section 2 - a trip to the mechanic is probably inevitable.

I’ve been in touch with ECS and waiting for them to follow up, figured I’d get your opinions in the meantime.

PS… I tried uploading the picture on my phone so not sure how well it’s going to come out.

i had that happen on a motorcycle muffler. It eventually stopped but was kind of annoying.

Apparently there are different types of packing, some that don't have the fibers that can blow out so easily.

I guess I’ll give it more time.

I’ve installed exhausts on other cars and never dealt with as much coming out of the exhaust before.

Damaging lungs for those following this car. Or maybe anti-COVID M3

That is not normal and must be some qa failure. There must be a bad weld connection inside the wrapped muffler housing that you have insulation being blown out.

Yeah, that is a lot. Looking in the section 2 from either end should determine which part it is coming from.

I had this happen with my full SS catted exhaust with race section 3. Eventually the deposits on the bumper cover went away as did the intermittent EGT and post cat codes.
