Outside of the big 3 which were by far the most expensive (I neglected VANOS and it bit me in the ass), I've encountered just about all of the most common issues during my last 7 years of ownership.

Looking through my records: water pump, fuel pump, TPS sensors, leaking coolant expansion tank, starter motor, CPV o-ring, valve cover gasket, ignition coils – but these are all expected at some point given the age of these cars, and none of them were particularly expensive since I did the work myself. Have also done some rubber parts like shifter refresh, motor mounts, trans mounts, steering guibo, then of course fluids, filters, spark plugs, belts, etc. which are all routine.

The big one on the horizon is going to be a full suspension refresh, which is definitely overdue at this mileage. Just got done with the clutch / flywheel, which miraculously appear to have been the original units at 180k.

Certainly not a trivial amount of maintenance, but at this high of mileage I figure most cars would start to have issues like these pop up.

I understand what you're saying and I do agree with it. However my track buddy is also a mechanic so the only cost incurred is parts. Since I don't know the history of the oil changes I'm just going to do it

This will get controversial, though I tend to agree with you.

121k. The only issue the engine ever gave me in 10 years of ownership was a cracked VANOs exhaust hub.

    Knock on wood.

Eight of the twelve that I pulled out at 98k were completely worn through to the copper layer. It’s definitely worth doing if you don’t know the history of your car.
