    Wagon Build Article

I know that some of us don't like this forum very much, but I sniped this pretty cool build article from them.

Beautiful car and they even went full re-spray. Man... dollars. I was just at 75 year old dad's house showing him my plans on building a wagon and his reaction was a complete a WTF are you doing? It was quite the comical discussion.

Ya, looks like an almost no expense spared type build...it def looked share worthy. Ha, sounds like your typical Dad reaction.

Guess who did the full engine/mechanical prep, refresh and conversion on both that wagon and sedan and gets no credit?

                Some guy named Kevin?

I like how the calipers' bleeders' dust caps weren't removed for paint 😕

Good eye, surprised they let that slip but at least they did the door jambs and a plus plus for doing the engine bay. Obviously need to see this up close but it has to be the costliest, and perhaps most complete, wagon conversion of all time.

That's shockingly common... which is funny because it's not like it's hard to prep them properly.

This build makes me sad... not only had I always planned all along to have a full bodywork white wagon and sedan, both of which are pictured together, but my end goal theme was also going to be to do the interior in M alcantara too! (To finish the look off from my Imola convertible interior with red brakes, LSB coupe interior with LSB brakes, and a Lemans or Velvet in the sedan with also matching brakes.)

What sucks is that for years and years of having this idea, the limitation was money. Now that I have money, I have no time and my desire to wrench on cars has waned. I even had a nice blown HG slicktop white sedan with a donor too. Ended up just junking the sedan

That's true, a lot of time you see shops paint right over the pistons, dust boots etc with no masking.

I see what you are referring to when talking about the sedan. Some shop called 2m autowerks in San Diego did both the wagon and sedan. Wonder if it is the same owner for both?

Same owner from LA, has a nice collection of vehicles. Kaiv did the engine/drivetrain swaps. 2M did the bodywork, Mile End supplied the bumpers/flippers and diffusers in 1x1 weave.

Yeah it's the same owner for both. Big money spent on these cars!

I was kinda sad that he choose alpine white. Because now there's 2 alpine white M3 touring conversions in San Diego. Although his is much cleaner since it was a complete tear down and color change. And getting the slicktop from Germany is another level.

I wish my rear fenders were molded with the rear door, but the decision was made on mine not have the extra body work and tweak it down and in more. But at least I have metal front and rear fenders I guess.

When I saw it was San Diego I had a pretty good idea who was involved LoL.

On one hand I wish you were closer than 2000 miles to me but on the other hand my pocket book is grateful because the urge to simply let you do it would be too strong.
