    Are you trying to use the ECUWorx binary tool or NCSExpert?

    Do you just need to add to the VO or do you need to alter values for your non-zcp/csl steering rack and brakes as well?

    When was your car made?

    Thank you both, very helpful. Now just need to get going with NCS.     That all looks correct. If you want to go through the trouble of adding the LED, you can take the convertible top or SMG cog LED and move it over to the "S" for MTM.     Just the steering rack should be “LENKWINKELKENNLINIE_2” in the MK60 module. Change from “wert_05” to “wert_04”.

    If you want to change everything to the ZCP/CSL settings, I would just go to edit your FA, add $7MA which is the option code for ZCP, then default code your MK60 module so it assumes all options automatically, otherwise just look in NCS Dummy which settings are appropriate (based on CSL,M_TRACK_MODE in the options field).

    You then want to go back in with trace manipulation and look for “DTC_LAMPE” if memory serves me right this controls the light and the long/short press behavior, with it set to “aktiv” it assumes you have the light in the cluster, with it set to “nicht_aktiv” it will behave like a regular E46.

    If you do add the LED the above can be reverted I think, and the cluster should have the option “ANZEIGE_HOCHLADEN” which enables the LED.

    The LED can be added to the boards that don’t have it, I think we scavenged some orange LED from a donor board so it’s the exact same color, it also needs a resistor I remember.
    I had an idea once to make it green but the green factory LEDs aren’t very bright and need two of them.

It's interesting to imagine the decision-making process on a minor detail like this from a macro level, meaning from idea to implementation (weird thought but I enjoy it).
    I am also assuming "S" is for sport, but could be stability, slip or some German word that starts with "S". BMW advertised M-track mode as a setting to use primarily on track. Just a guess, but I think they did not want to confuse the consumer into thinking it was a sporty mode for street use, so they called it M-track mode rather than Sport traction control mode and got rid of the "S". It is basically the same symbol as DSC but without the triangle and the exclamation point.
