034Motorsport's Density Line Motor Mounts feedback, impressions ?

Recently came across these on https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...t-034-509-0064 started to read up on them and it does seem at least in theory to be an improvement over stock with no drawbacks. Same size design, same 55 Durometer Rubber rating as OE but without large voids filled with fluid. I know the consensus has been to stick with OE mounts (used oe mounts myself in the past) for long time as all the other options had drawbacks, So I'm just curious looking for feedback from someone that actually used had experience with them in real life what are their impressions thoughts on these mounts? On paper they look good but we all know how that usually plays out. If the mounts actually deliver what's advertised with no drawbacks like NVH then it would be nice fairly inexpensive upgrade πŸ€”

I have these (and the matching transmission mounts) installed on my car. My engine mounts were shot when I got the car, so these were the first things I replaced. Hence, I can't give you a good comparison with stock mounts. The only real change I noticed after switching was that it was much easier to shift gears under power. I've put about 10k miles on the car since I changed them and I haven't had any problems. I certainly don't think the vibration from the engine or driveline is excessive. The M3 is the noisiest car I have though, so not sure how to comment about that bit.

I wonder if these are really any different than the solid rubber mounts that BimmerWorld and others sell. I wouldn't be surprised if they all come from the same factory.

Thanks for the feedback, now did you notice any vibrations at idle for example in the steering wheel ect?

I went from OE to Vibra Technics (road version) to these 034. The OE had some "sponginess" in them. The Vibra Technics stiffens things up quite well, but have some NVH. Nothing bad at all, but you do feel and notice it. The steering wheel also shakes a bit too with the VT at idle. The 034 is a good compromise, that removed the "sponginess" of the OE mounts while getting rid of that NVH of the VT at idle. The NVH of the 034 actually is on par with the OE, to my surprise. Glad to have that OE feel back while keeping the engine movement at bay. To me, the 034 is like OEM+

There is a tiny, slight hint of vibration in the steering wheel and shift knob at idle. But honestly, I had to go crank the car and check to answer your question.

Almost anything other than OE may add very slight NVH @ idle. Raise the idle 50-100rpms, bam, NVH gone!πŸ˜‰ I've had VT's for 5yrs, still love them!😍

Sounds like good compromise, thanks again πŸ™

Debating this mod myself, always tough as my car is 90/10 street/DE. Don’t want to turn it into a clap trap. What is the advantage of this beyond the shifting? I don’t have any shift problems now. I do think an in-line 6 is the least work from an engine vibration perspective.

I’m changing my front control arms so this is a sudden while you are in their option.

Widely recommended. I replaced the VT mounts my car came with and these mounts were such an improvement on the NVH side with no drawbacks at all.
